First Kick

       I felt the first for sure kick this weekend! I had just come home from work and Jake was on the phone with his parents. This also happened to be Jake's 32nd Birthday! I decided to sit/lay in the recliner while Jake was on the phone and while he was sitting next to me talking loudly to his parents I felt a little kick. My response was, "woah!" Jake thought something hurt at first, but I explained it was the baby and he was pretty excited! After that, we went out for Indian food and came home. I hoped it would happen again so strong and obvious like that. But, it hasn't yet.  Jake even tried yesterday being really loud to get her to move. hahaha.  He was banging on the piano, making Riley bark loudly next to my tummy, and tapping on my belling saying, "BABY!?" Nothing else so far though.
       Jake and I also went to lunch at Red Lobster with Mom, Dad, Grandpa and Grandma D, Ryan, Dustin, Jenna, Zoey, and Zaylor for Dad's birthday.  Zoey was quite interested in how the baby stayed warm, ate, moved, and what foods she did and didn't like. When I told her the baby gets food through her belly button, she looked very confused and shocked. It took some explaining but I think she got the idea.  "so food goes from your mouth, to your tummy, to the baby?"  Now she's got it ; )  I think she spent 10 minutes asking me what foods the baby likes.
 "what about orange juice?"
"Nope, she doesn't like Orange Juice or Soda"
"What about shrimp?" (there was shrimp on my plate) so I ate one and told Zoey that the baby liked it. :) It as really fun to try and answer so many questions about a baby in a way that a child would understand.
